Once upon a time, there lived four children, Joseph, Mary, Sofia and Henry. They were brothers and sisters. They lived in a town, and were not very rich. Their father was a clerk in State Bank and did not earn much. The children were very good and always listened to their parents.

One day a group of terrorists came to their town and made several laws which was against the freedom and happiness of the people. So their family decided to move to a country side. The children were not very happy as they loved their town very much. “I don’t really like the animals here", cried Sofia. "Me too" cried everyone. The next day, they sat on the train and went off to the country side. But Mary who was the youngest loved nature and she was quite unhappy, but she didn't show that to anyone.

After a few hours, they reached their new cottage. "It is a very small cottage in the middle of the forest", cried Sofia, looking very annoyed. The children helped their mother to clean the cottage. After the work had been done, everyone felt asleep, as it was late night. The next morning, everyone cleaned their home and helped their mother in the garden and kitchen. Their mother was very pleased and said that they could have a nice picnic.

"But we won't come, as I and your father need to go to the market nearby" said their mother. Joseph, Sofia and Henry went to a park, while Mary planned to wander in the nearby forest. It was amazing. The leaves were rustling, as if they were happily saying some secrets. After a while, some squirrels and some rabbits came near her and started rubbing their body on her legs. "Oh, they are so cute", Mary exclaimed, as she took them in her hands. She rushed to her cottage and as no one was there> She took those cute creatures with her. She gave them fruits and grains to eat. soon, they became friends.

Every evening, she went there to spend some time with those creatures. Sometimes her siblings would ask her, where she went every evening. But, she only replied that she was going to a new friend's house. Days went by and her eighth birthday came. Now they were quite rich, and their parents decided to send them to a hostel. Everybody was happy except Mary. She felt very sad, as she could never meet the squirrels and rabbits. The last day, she said goodbye to the squirrels and rabbits, with tears in her eyes. The very next day, the children went off to the hostel.

The children were doing well in school and Mary always scored the highest in her class. But still, she always had a sad face. She always wondered what those creatures would be doing. The squirrels and the rabbits would wait for her, but she never came. As days went by Mary became sick and the warden of her hostel and her teachers out of concern informed her parents. Many check ups were done but Mary wasn't getting well. Later on the doctors referred her to a psychiatrist.

The psychologist, Dr. Peter took Mary to a room and talked with her. She said, "Sir, every night I could hear the squirrels and rabbits, who were in the forest near my cottage, calling me. Though I am here, my heart and soul is in that forest. I cannot forget them. I feel empty without them. Dr. Peter called her parents and told them everything. Hearing all these, Mary's parents decided to take Mary back to the cottage and leave her other siblings in the hostel.

The next day they reached their cottage and Mary was very excited. Mary with her parents went to the forest in search of those little creatures. They soon found them and Mary felt as if those rabbits and squirrels were waiting for her in the same place where they used to wait. Mary's face brightened on seeing them and she ran towards them.

Mary's parents realized what mistake they did and told Mary that she could bring those rabbits and squirrels back to the cottage with her. Her happiness knew no bounds and she thanked her parents and promised that she will continue her studies and make them proud.
