Math Test Day

Math Test Day

2 mins
440

All the students of X-A were to pass the math test which involved symmetry and shapes. The challenge was to identify the congruence or similarity theorem relating two shapes or parts of them together.

Sara and Olivia were the toppers of the class. But then there were other students who were just happy by passing the test and had no aims of topping or get a high score.

Sid knew he hadn't studied for the test and he couldn't answer any of the questions. Meanwhile, he thanked God for keeping the seating arrangement in his favour. He had got a seat just behind Olivia.

He thought he was spared and could ask Olivia for some of the answers. The test of 90 minutes then began. Sara and Olivia were beaming with joy as though all their favourite questions had come and they could answer them all.

When Olivia was attempting the third question, Sid tried to cause a distraction and asked her some help in writing a few answers. She tried to ignore him and refrained from sharing answers with him. But he was persistent and kept trying to ask Olivia for help.

In anger, Olivia just said to Sid, "I ain't going to tell you even if I die".

Of course, she didn't mean it but it sounded really rude. Time was running out and Olivia focused on completing her paper. While submitting her paper she noticed that Sid was in tears. She then recollected what she said to Sid and how badly it would have hurt him.

She regretted hurting their friendship after all a simple math test. She wouldn't have lost anything if she had helped in with a couple of answers for him to pass. Instead, she was harsh with him.

She tried apologizing to Sid but he didn't pay any attention.

He simply ignored her and the last words he spoke to her was, "I wouldn't want you to die for some stupid math answers".

Olivia that day learned a lesson to think twice before she speaks so that she doesn't hurt anyone unintentionally.
