The Avenger

Planet Xorr, Year 2050:

A devastating explosion which had taken place 5 minutes ago had shaken the entire planet to its very core. The evil and mighty Alien Lord Huckler was at it again. Born and raised in planet Hatolina, by a family who utterly despised him and filled his entire childhood to the brim with extremely painful and unforgettable memories, Huckler, at the tender age of 17, decided he had had enough and left his house at midnight on a cold winter night of December 12, 2024 and burned his entire house to the ground. Watching that terrible place burn and go to hell gave him a dark feeling of joy. Laughing and snickering quietly, he went to his family’s jumpship carrying only his trusty laser blaster, a weapon powerful enough to kill anyone shot by it. That laser blaster was a family heirloom passed on generation after generation to the eldest male member. Technically Huckler wasn’t supposed to inherit till he turned 20 but I guess he decided it was time to start the “Mah life, mah rulezz” thing and he started a new life- as an evil dictator known for annihilating all planets after slaying every single living being on it. He had accumulated so much wealth and fear factor over the years that the other aliens preferred working for him and doing horrible things to their own species rather than die. The destruction of planet Xorr was extremely special to him. Why, you ask? Because it was the 200th planet which he had destroyed completely, leaving no trace of it in the deep space. The once majestic Amphoterian Galaxy which consisted of 500 planets, was now left with just about 300. All it took to wipe out 200 planets was the uncontrollable, unfathomable rage and a scandalous childhood of that one Hatolinaite - Huckler. 

Okay, so now you all must be wondering, where the heck is the hero in this story? Is there even one? Can anyone end Huckler’s reign of destruction and terror? Fear not, my dear readers the hero is coming up right now. Remember how I mentioned Huckler destroyed every living being before he destroyed the planet? Yes, I know what you are thinking. If he would have straightaway destroyed the planets then obviously every living being would be, in turn taken care of. But he literally had too much time on his hands. He loved watching people screaming in agony, watching their shocked expressions frozen in terror as they awaited their death. Basically, the guy’s thoughts were darker than anything else you can imagine. So he would murder everyone on the planet and then annihilate it. And one more thing which you need to know is, all planets of the Amphoterian Galaxy were really small in size, say about half of the size of earth’s moon. So when he destroyed planet Xorr, the tragic news of the destruction reached the years of young Bruce Bradford, who was a native of Xorr, but at the time of destruction thankfully was on honeymoon with his wife Anne Daniels on planet Halx. Now, who was this Bruce Bradford? He was literally the most famous alien warrior of Xorr and had helped Xorr win hundreds of battles. Young and devilishly handsome at the age of 153 years (aliens had a lifespan of over 1000. Imagine being alive for 1000 years, can you?), it was no surprise that he got married so early. (I swear I am not being sarcastic here.) Marriage proposals came in plenty for him but he loved Anne from the bottom of his heart. They had known each other since more than a century (literally, hehe.) and hence fell in love and got married. When Bruce heard the news of his planet’s destruction, he was crestfallen. His whole family was on planet Xorr. Parents, grandparents and little sister Brenda. He cried his eyes out, vented all his frustration and anger on poor chairs and crockery (thankfully not on planets lol), paid respects to his late family and finally set out on a mission, inarguably the most important one of his life. To slay the mighty Lord Huckler and end this menace once and for all.

When Anne heard about the news, she eagerly wanted to accompany Bruce in his quest to kill Huckler. But unfortunately, she couldn’t. She had just come to know a day ago that she was pregnant. Bruce had no idea about it and she decided she would tell him after he returned from his mission. In her defense, even she hadn’t wrapped her head completely around it. (If something else had been wrapped, she wouldn’t have been in this situation lmao.) So finally Bruce set off in his jumpship in search of Huckler. He also carried a laser blaster with him, given to him by the then General of Xorr when he had won his first battle. It meant the world to him. The planet which was closest to Xorr was planet Volem. This Volem was a completely peace loving planet. They did not even have an army of their own. Bruce thought that it would be the easiest target for Huckler and thus, decided to pay Volem a visit. There was a slight problem. It would take him 24 hours to travel from Halx to Volem. In that much time, Huckler could annihilate Volem twenty times but there was nothing Bruce could do. All he could hope was, Huckler would take his time, rest for a while from all the annihilating and then decide his next target. The next whole day felt like a decade to him. (Probably gave him a feel of “Mondays” on Earth.) He listened to music, watched his favorite movies but still time wouldn’t pass easily. Finally, after what felt like ages, he could see planet Volem looming up in the distance. He had reached just in time too. He could see the Dark Falcon, Huckler’s jumpship near the surface of the planet. He grabbed his portable spacesuit, slipped it on and directed his ship towards the Falcon. As he neared the Falcon, he opened the door and leaped out into the deep, dark space. Carefully, he floated and made his way to the Falcon and grabbed the door handle. Slowly climbing on top, he made his way to a hatch which opened outwards and stealthily sneaked in. He was now successfully inside the Falcon. Now came the difficult part. Stopping Huckler before he found out there was an intruder. The Falcon had long, dark corridors. The floor beneath was cracked and groaned with almost every step Bruce took. Slowly, he made his way to the control room of the Falcon. He saw Huckler, his six eyes looking hungrily at Volem as he commanded his soldiers to open fire at the civilians. Among the shrill, terrifying screams Bruce heard the one sound which made all his green blood boil. The sound of Huckler cackling and laughing maniacally. That’s it, he had had enough. With a shrill cry, he activated his laser blaster and leapt in front of the entire army of Huckler. Now, an entire army of hardened evil aliens v/s a single young alien warrior. Any guesses as to what transpired? Yes, you are right. In under 2 minutes, the whole army was slain by the young warrior. The only injury Bruce sustained was a bruise on his shoulder where an alien had struck him. Huckler could not believe the sight in front of his eyes. All of his six eyes were gaping in horror at the sight of his entire army lying dead in front of him. With one single stroke of the blaster, Bruce destroyed the control system thus deactivating the weapons and stopping the firing. Huckler had heard all about Bruce but naturally he assumed him to be dead since he had destroyed Xorr. But very clearly, he wasn’t dead. Devastated and enraged, he activated his trusty laser blaster and thus began the greatest duel of all time. Both the aliens were equally skilled. The Falcon was now almost touching the soil of Volem so the citizens could clearly see what was going on inside. Children screamed in horror as they saw the two warriors going for each other’s throats. The duel was intense and lasted a long time, whenever it looked like one was winning, the other would make a great comeback. Then suddenly, Bruce noticed something in the corner of his eye. A small shiny glass ball. He could not believe it. It was a B-12, the most dangerous explosive ever made. It could wipe out a whole planet in less than a minute. He could see that Huckler was tired. Sensing the opportunity, he duelled harder and backed him into a corner. With a brutal punch, he smashed the lights out of Huckler but he lost his footing and by mistake opened the main door of the Falcon. Both of their laser blasters were sucked out and swallowed up by the space. Holding onto the floor and walls tightly, he closed the door. Huckler lay unconscious muttering some nonsense mumbo jumbo. He could not be defeated in hand to hand combat, he was too strong for that. Sensing no other way out of this, he plunged the Falcon into overdrive, drove it in deep space far away from the Amphoterian Galaxy and when he knew it was safe, he activated and used the lethal weapon still on board. The B-12. 

Anne was beside herself with grief when she found out the tragic news. She felt like her heart had been ripped to a trillion little pieces. It took her a lot of time to accept the news. Bruce was declared a galactic hero when the civilians of Halx learned about his ultimate sacrifice. A huge memorial was dedicated and built in his honour. He had done the impossible after all, slain the once known as undefeatable Lord Huckler. Then finally after a few months, Anne gave birth to a healthy boy and named him Bruce, in honour of his father. Anne made sure that she would tell her son all the brave stories about his father. After all this though, she was happy about one thing. Bruce was reunited with his own family up there. He had made sure the remaining 300 planets would be safe. He had successfully avenged his family.
