Smile Of Hope...

It's like everyday evening, Tushar Babu is sitting in his chair and sipping a cup of tea. He is waiting for some children from the nearby village to come for tuition. His tuition is continuing even after his retirement from School.

He has gone back to the past for a moment and was remembering the old memories. His father was the 1st matriculate of their village during his time. Mother was a good housewife. Tushar Babu is the youngest and the third child of his parents. The eldest was his sister, who got married and settled in another village. Then, his elder brother after graduation got married and settled in the city with his family and was in a government job. He is the only person now after retirement settled down in his birthplace.

The journey of his life is full of ups and downs. When he was in school, he lost his father and then was only 13 years old. By that time his elder brother was married. His mother and sister-in-law were taking care of him and his brother used to be in the city for his job and used to come in the weekend.

Then he was sent to the hostel for good education to complete Matric. He had completed that successfully. Then he took admission in the best college in the city. His brother arranged his staying in a student's mess. His brother was taking all his cares. After two years, when he entered into graduation level his sister-in-law came to the city and all of them stayed in a house, but he was having his exclusive room for study. He then completed his graduation in English very successfully.

Now the time came for him to choose a career. During his student life, he was very much influenced by his school teacher and now decided to be a teacher. His brother agreed with him and he was admitted to the only training college for 2 years to be a trained graduate teacher.

He had completed this successfully. Though he got good offers from big schools in the city, he refused and had gone to join a new private school in a village started by his old teacher. Then his journey of struggle and success started together.

He got married to the only daughter of a renowned person. His wife was staying in his native with his mother and he was far away in that growing new private school.

He was very good at teaching English and made his students from village experts in that. In the meantime, he was blessed with three sons and all were growing up. In between this, he lost his mother. Now he brought his wife and sons to stay with him.

He was very much focused on his teachings and his students were respecting him as their parents. Who knew there would be a big turn in his life! His wife decided to go back to their native with children and stay there. He had very few reasons left to stop her. Lastly, they left for their village and his children got admitted in school there.

By this time, Tushar's students became successful doctors, engineers, civil servants, professors. He used to feel very proud and happy to know their success stories.

Here his elder son completed Matriculation, but in intermediate failed twice. He decided to discontinue study and left for a big city to work in a factory. His second son even couldn't complete Matric and got involved in various mischievous activities. Even he was addicted to drugs. The third son anyhow could have completed graduation. But he was engaged in village politics.

In the meantime, Tushar had cut off his relation from his brother. Now his elder son took the second son with him and got him engaged there.

Time passed Tushar got the responsibilities of Head Master. He was very happy to run the school. He got all his kids married.

Then came the retirement day and that was a very emotional day for him to leave the school and have a final break up in his 35 years relationship with this school. While he could see others are happy and could speak proud stories of their children's success, he had nothing to speak. This used to give him lots of pain. With all such pain and lonely heart he came back to his native village and stayed with his wife.

Then he thought one day to start giving his teaching to the needy poor students and make them successful. He wanted to replace their success with the disastrous life of his own children.

Sometimes the tears rolled down from his eyes. He tried to cry, but couldn't. He used to ask why it happened to him? Is he responsible?

Like this many more questions, which remained unanswered. Since then he is teaching these students and he wants to enjoy their success. He is the retired Head Master... Waiting for the time... Now as his students came, he gave a" SMILE OF HOPE" and started teaching them...
