Chapter 9

John whispered “Dude, I saw Roslyn”. “What? Where?” Asked Sandeep. "Look there and John pointed his finger towards the peak of the mountain". Sandeep lifted his eyes to check where she was, he kept staring at the girl; "Oh god I can't believe she is just in front of me" John said "dDid you see her Sandeep?". Sandeep kept staring at her and John asked "Dude, what happened? Looks like even you are in shock", Sandeep said "No dude, I can't see her clearly; may be we are a little far away". "Let's climb up quickly" said John, Sandeep agreed.

John did not take his eyes off her, he kept looking at her, his heart was pounding inside his chest with joy, he was nervous, he was scared. "Will she forgive me dude?" John asked looking at his friend, "She will, don't worry" said Sandeep. Again they both looked at her and she was getting down from the other side. "Sandeep, she's going, I seriously want to talk to her" said an anxious John. Sandeep replied "Relax you will talk to her today", he called out his wife's name "Pavithra, we saw our old college mate on the peak of the mountain, we both will go meet him, you guys climb up carefully" and then he looked at Charles "Carry on Sandeep, I will take care" said Charles. 

John and Sandeep walked as fast as they could but slowly they saw Roslyn was getting out of their sight. They were still a little far away they made it fast as they possibly could. Finally when they reached the peak Roslyn was nowhere to be seen, they didn't know how she went and which direction she went in. "Where did she disappear?" asked Sandeep, John who was catching his breath sat down in disappointment, Sandeep said "John come on, don't give up, all these days we were wondering where she was and today we saw her, we know she is somewhere close by, don't worry God will make a way for us to meet her". John nodded his head in agreement, sipped water and looked down, he saw Jency was struggling to walk holding both their daughters, John said "Dude, look they are struggling to walk let's go down". Sandeep gave him a weird look "What? Again? No dude I can't, my legs can't move an inch now", John said "Fine you stay here, I will go help them up". John went down, Jency asked "What happened John, did you not meet your old friend?" "She" sorry "He" left by the time we reached so we couldn't talk to him" replied John; he took Ziya in his arms holding Liya and Brinda (Sandeep's daughter) he climbed up the slope.

Once everyone reached the peak of the mountain they all sat down took some rest had some snacks. Every one was so exhausted they felt like going back to their room and sleep for the rest of the day but Pavithra (Sandeep's wife) suggested they all visited Hadimba Temple which was close by, though they were tired they did not want to disappoint Pavithra so on the way they finished their lunch, went to the temple spent some time there and finally reached resort. They went to their respective rooms and rested for a while, John too slept but he woke up within an hour and recollected seeing Roslyn, he felt bad for not talking to her. He got out of the bed, walked out of the room to clear his mind and he saw Charles and Sandeep sitting in the garden. He walked towards them, why are you guys here? I thought you must be sleeping? "We were, we just came out to get fresh air" said Sandeep. "Why don't we go out somewhere? I am sure nobody is gonna join us, they are tired" said Charles, "Yes! let's go but where?" asked John, "Paragliding!?" screamed Sandeep."No, I have heard that there is a haunted forest somewhere around here. Why don't we go there?" asked Charles. "Oh that's risky let's not take a chance" said Sandeep, "I too feel the same" said John. "I have decided to go, it would be adventurous but no worries I will go alone" said Charles. John said "We can't leave you like that, Sandeep and I will accompany you" said John, without much interest Sandeep said ok. 

They quickly got ready, informed their wives and got into the car. John drove the car, Charles sat beside him and Sandeep was behind. As soon as they reached the forest Sandeep asked "Do you seriously wanna get into the forest Charles?". "Yes Sandeep because I'm sure that this place is not haunted and that there are no ghosts in here". They started driving into the forest. It started getting dark and they were in the middle of the forest now, Charles said "Look did I not tell you there is no ghost here". As they were going they heard a loud, gut wrenching scream. John quickly closed all the windows and locked the car, "Did you hear that Charles?" asked Sandeep in panic. They looked around for the source of the scream, but found none. Charles feeling a little adventurous said "Let's go further into the forest", John asked him if he was sure about it. Don't you think we are risking our lives here?". "Yes Charles let's go back" said Sandeep and they heard a loud burst, John said "Oh god, it's the tyre, do you have a spare Sandeep?". Sandeep nodded his head yes and showed them where it was. Charles and John got down to change the tyre while Sandeep was in fear. He nervously looked around. Too scared to sit in the car alone, he got down and asked John to make it fast. The minute they replaced the tyre there was a heavy wind. John said "Let's quickly get into the car and get out of this place".They frantically tried to open the car door but it was locked. Sandeep panicked even more than before, John tried to unlock but he couldn't. At the corner of their eye, far away, they saw a small girl in white walking towards them, Sandeep yelled "Ghost ghost", Charles said "Calm down Sandeep, she's just a kid, looks like she lost her way" a wide eyed John murmured under his breath in shock "Oh no...look" and pointed towards where the girl's leg should've been. Both Sandeep and Charles shifted their gaze to where John was pointing.The little girl had no legs, but was coming towards them, real fast. All three, sweating heavily kept trying to unlock the door and as the girl was about to reach them, the doors unlocked, they got into the car and took a breath of relief, but that didn't last long...the little girl started knocking on the window at the back of the car. Sandeep screamed in fear and John immediately locked the car from inside.
