Sunder hails from Indira Nagar, Nilgiris district. . His daughter is Priya. He has been working in a private company in Dubai. He had come to his home in India on vacation a few days ago.

Earlier this evening, Priya's father-in-law, a Chennai girl who had been working abroad, had gone to Chennai to attend his funeral. His father refused to give him permission to go so far away at night and reportedly protested.

Depressed by this, Priya drank the homemade potato pesticide she had bought. This caused her to faint. The neighbors noticed him and took her to the government hospital for treatment. She was then sent to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for further treatment. There doctors gave her intensive care. Priya died without treatment.
