Just go to your sweet and native village, you will feel great for sure. One thing must care about how it was then when you had a visit there last time and how it is right now. You will able to feel the difference as I noticed recently.

A couple of days ago I was on the way to my land by a bus. Though it was fully packed and rushed, I was able get a seat at a window side. It was the bus from the nearest city to my home land and it was the last bus in that evening too. After a long time I’m visiting there. So excited to be there and to meet my childhood friends.

As the bus was moving ahead I was more comfortable with my sit because the scenes outside the window was thrilling. The beautiful long green trees there moving backwards and making my eyes so pleasant. And the sweet cool wind was blowing in such a way that touching to my inner soul. It seemed like they were welcoming me again. I was just enjoying that moment. And so thankful for their hidden offering stuffs for me.

As the bus entered into the neighbouring village next to mine, my heart was so eager about when it would reach at my village bus stop.

Finally the waiting got to an end and finally the bus reached at one end of my land. As I stepped down the bus, my eyes got little wet. I entered into after a hearty gratitude honour which was well visible on my forehead.

There were lot of trees on both the sides of my village. And worst muddy drains closed to it where we used to sail paper boats and catch fishes with fish sticks in the fall during childhood days. Where are those? Where have those hidden & playing hide & seek with me? Just got astonished with the truth when I came to know that those have been cut into pieces to make roads little wider and for proper drainage system.

Alas! Went ahead. Met one of my elder who had been much older with grey hairs and a stick with a hand was walking along the road whose strong and& tall body had been converted into week and bent. I just showed my respect to him and I was less recognised to him because his grand child has become young with well grown beard on face. So I introduced myself again after my early education in my village school. I just saw a beautiful smile on his face and rushed towards home.

I was well acquainted with the road as I had spent my whole early days playing with the mud and dust of it. I was also aware about all the humps and dumps on it. But those my childhood friends have been vanished under the concrete jungle.

Well reached safely as the street dogs were in peace somewhere else. I was not able to go to school alone and remained so frightened of them as they used to bark and follow with no reason during childhood.

Anyway that night spent with these pain. Next morning, I got up so early just to watch the sunrise scene on the river bank. But where was the foot path to the river. I just got confused to choose the right path among the branched like concrete road.

Finally I was just to reach the bank I had to cross through a mango groove. It was so pleasant feeling as the cuckoo was in singing mode with its baby ones. What a morning it was! I felt so when enjoyed the beautiful outing of the sun from the east horizon.

But my happiness was for few minutes when I entered into the water and saw nasty rough dirties floating on there. I just felt very painful for my village river for such disappointing things. Just thought it is not right whatever happening.

There was no roaster to wake you up like an alarm with the common Crow. It is really very hard to see a crow and the chirping sparrow in the villages.

There are only bullocks but no carts. There were times many many desi tools were used in farming but it is true that the coming generation won’t be able to see them because much developed tools are used right now these days.

The Chatashali education from where we had started ours were no more. The types and ways of teaching we had got will no longer exist.

These days children in villages play cricket, ludo, chess and video games. And stick to television to watch their favourite cartoon heroes.

But we have grown by playing with mud and dust of our land. Games like gilli danda, baati, hide and seek, kabbddi game, bohu chori, water and island, tiger and goat, etc. were played by me. And there are now in RED DATA BOOK of GAMES.

Though some things have already changed but still some traditions , culture and rituals are their way as they were like the SANDHYA DEEPA at the Tulasi plant (Brundavati), Offering PANAA to SUN on roadside, rituals of being 21 DAYS & 1YEAR of a new born baby , SHATHI PUJA, NAME GIVING TRINAATH MELA etc.

Still I feel it is better to live in villages rather than in cities because of the air quality and peace provided by the village atmosphere.

The caring people and relatives, the simplicity of their attitude & behaviour, the cooperation in all the occasions MAKE LIFE BETTER AND BEAUTIFUL.
