One sunny Sunday morning, a girl named Rida was in her house. She lived with her grandparents. Rida was about to open her window but before she could, she heard wind blowing outside. Rida’s grandmother was unwell and Rida’s grandfather had gone out of station so she was taking care of her grandmother alone. Hearing the wind blowing so hard, her grandmother got worried about their yard, she said, “Oh! This wind! It’s going to mess up my yard!” But Rida told her grandmother, “Granny, you please take care of your health. Don’t worry about anything else.” Rida looked out of the window but the wind was still blowing very fast. She decided to wait for some time before going out. After some time the wind stopped and Rida decided to go out and clean the yard. She took a broom and started sweeping all the dried leaves, branches fallen and lot of garbage that had blown into the yard with the wind. She dug out the extra mud and sand which was collected.

While she was digging, she saw something coming out from the ground. She felt curious and dug a little deeper. To her surprise, there was a chest hidden under the ground. She removed it out but she was a bit scared to open it. But then she thought why anyone would keep any harmful thing in her grandparent’s yard. She took the chest inside the house to ask her grandmother about it. But when she went to her grandmother’s room, Rida saw that she was sleeping. So, she took the chest out and decided to open it. When she opened the chest, she found her mother’s photographs, some scarves and some toys from her mother’s childhood inside it.

When Rida asked her grandmother about the chest later, she said to Rida, “I buried all that under the ground because I did not want to throw these things away but I also did not want you to miss your mother more by looking at her things.” Rida hugged her grandmother tight and thanked her for keeping all the things. Then she ran out to get the chest. She had decided to decorate her room with those things.
