Patience

In our day to day life, we all need patience. The ones who lack it often find it difficult to tackle everyday challenges. But what does patience exactly means? Does it mean to sit passively and leave everything to destiny? No, certainly not. There is more to it.

One fine evening Swati's twelve years old daughter asked her, what is patience?

Swati took a few moments and then replied, "Patience is farsighting the desired end result and then putting the effort accordingly to achieve it." She didn't understand and gave her a confused look. Swati took a bowl and poured some flour on it. Adding some water, she started mixing the flour. She kneaded it continuously, adding water after every few minutes until the dough became soft and pliable. Then she roll out a ball from the prepared dough. Placed it on the marble slab and flattened it further with the help of rolling pin. She kept using the flour in order to prevent the roll from sticking to the surface. Once the chapati got the perfect round shape, she placed it on pan on medium flame and cooked it from both sides. As the dough rose up forming bubbles she turned the dough over allowing the dough to rise once more. Once she spotted the black spots she removed the chapati from the with the help of a pair of tongs and put it in the hot pot. Then she served her the chapati with egg curry. The moment he chewed the first morsel, he understood the importance of patience and conveyed it by smiling at Swati.
