Love Story..

Sachin and Sunita were good friends. They studied together, attended the same school and college. Later on they opted for different streams and went about pursuing it but always kept in touch over Facebook and whatsapp. They liked each other but never expressed their feelings to one another thinking they would be rejected or not knowing what exactly is in each other's mind regarding their feelings for one another. One day Sachin messaged her in the hope that he would finally get it down his chest and be able to meet her and profess his love for her. He bought a ring for her in the hope of proposing to her if things go right and as planned.

Sachin: Hi, what's up? What are you doing this Saturday evening?

Sunita: Hey, I'm good. Oh nothing much, it's a boring Saturday, no plans as yet. Bahot din baad you thought of me,eh?😏(you thought of me after many days, eh)

Sachin: Stop complaining ya, I was stuck up with tons of work at office. Let's meet for coffee at your favorite mall. 6 :30 pm is fine with you?

Sunita: Ya I understand you're a busy man now. Sure, 6:30 is good enough. Uske baad bhooka rakh rahe ho ya kuch khilaoge bhi?? 😃( After that are you going to treat me with some food or just keep me hungry?) let's go to your favorite restaurant, the one near that juice center. The treat is on me.

Sachin: Haha, done! Then 6:30 it is madam.

Both were thrilled with the thought of meeting each other. Sunita looked her best for Sachin and he in turn wore the blue shirt she gifted him on his birthday.

Saturday, 6:30 pm. At Labelle coffee shop.

Sachin: You're looking good, went to parlor before coming here? *smiling to make her irritated*

Sunita: chup re. (keep quiet) Arre, you're wearing that blue shirt I gave you na, see it looks so good on you and what all drama you were doing that day when I was selecting a color for you.

Coffee arrives with some sandwiches.

Sunita: so, how's job going on? And how's uncle and aunty?

Sachin: All good re. Mom & dad busy with their routine. Job wise I'm doing good too. Got an overseas project of 1 year. But denied it. How's everything at your end?

Sunita: Nothing special at my end. The usual routine, home-office, office-home. Arre, why did you deny going? ( takes a bite of the sandwich)

Sachin: I don't know. I just wasn't interested in going at all. Didn't want to leave her behind.

Sunita was a bit shocked hearing a 'her' from Sachin's talks. She felt her world coming to a crash. Now nothing seemed fun and exciting. Still she put on an excited face and continued.

Sunita: Her?? Who is this her? Tumne kabhi bataya nahi about this 'her' . (you never told me about this 'her') who's the lucky girl??

Sachin: I really love her. She's the girl I want to marry in future. We know each other so well and now I can't imagine a life without her.

Sunita felt sad, broken, helpless, angry and all sort of emotions came rushing to her. She was trying to control herself.

Sunita : That's so sweet. Excuse me Sachin, I need to go to the washroom.

In the washroom she cried her heart out. She felt her heart exploding and shattering to pieces. She didn't want to go out there and face him and she just felt to run away from there. But couldn't do that either. She freshened up and went back.

Sachin: Arre, itna time kya Karr rahi thi tum andar? (what were you doing inside that you took so much time? )

Sunita: Just fixing up my make-up.

Sachin: Who is looking at you here other than me? And as though you look great. ( teasing her to make her irritated. )

Sunita wasn't excited as before when she entered the shop and started chit chatting with him. She wished this meeting would just come to an end and she could run home and cry her heart out .

Sachin: Then tell me, how's all at home? ( just to keep the conversation going. )

Sunita: Ya all good. Mom and& dad are busy searching good alliances for me now that I'm well settled and of marriageable age. And I thought they are right in doing so and I too told them I'm ready to settle down.

NowS achi's heart began to sink. He hadn't expected this and he thought time was slipping out of his hand. He needed to tell her now or else she will be gone forever.

Sachin: oh, that's great. So, the countdown has begun, eh? Have you selected any guy and kind of fixed your dream guy? (he was broken from inside but acted cool)

Sunita: Yes, sort of. Shortlisted 2-3 guys. Good family, good looks, financially well settled. Now mom and dad have left it upon me to choose one among them. Will be doing that in someday now. And once it's all fixed you're coming for my wedding Ok? I don't want any excuses and bring along your girl too.

(Now both of them were broken from inside and didn't know what to talk to each other. )

Total silence prevails. Their coffee turned ice cold and the grilled sandwiches were half eaten and left untouched. )

Sunita: it's getting late. I think we should leave and drop me home like a gentleman OK.

Sachin: (Thinking in his mind if not now then it's never.)

I need to tell you something.

Sunita : Ya, go ahead.

Sachin: Sunita, I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, if that's ok with you. I have known you since my school and college days and I have always had a crush on you though I never told you thinking what you would think about me. I have always wanted to open up and tell you about my feelings but then when I see or talk to you I never gathered the guts to tell you. I dropped my overseas trip just for you. I didn't want to leave you thinking what if something happens in my absence and I lose you forever.

That's about it. You can tell me whatever is in your mind and heart. I'm ready to accept it.

Sunita : what about your girl? Your girlfriend?

Sachin: There's no girl. I made it all up. I have only loved you. You are the only girl in my life.

Anyways I'm not forcing anything. You have your life and your choices to make. You can go ahead and select your guy.

Sunita : Which guy?

Sachin: Don't act now. The ones you shortlisted.

Sunita: There's no guy. I too made it up all. Yes it's true mom and dad were telling me to settle down but I was delaying making excuses and telling I'm not ready yet.

Sachin: Sunita, will you marry me?

Sunita: Yes. I have always loved you Sachin but never could express or tell you. What an idiot I am!

Sachin: Well, I guess that makes the both of us idiots!!

And they both laugh with tears flowing from her eyes.

Just then he takes out the ring he brought along and holds her hand and slips it on to her finger and whispers to her, 'I love you and thanks for everything.'

Sunita felt she was the most luckiest girl in the entire universe. She couldn't hold herself back and whispered back to him, 'I love you too'.

They held hands and walked out happily from the coffee shop as a man and woman crazily, madly and deeply in love, gazing into each other's eyes with the vow of loving each other until eternity.
