Riona's reply was "No" because she is in love with someone else... “What??? Who is that lucky guy?” I questioned... “I am not that close to her to know all that John, Who knows… it can even be you…” she said and walked away without even finishing her breakfast.

Sandeep said, “I am sure she is also in love with you dude, go talk to her”. “No Sandeep, now I know she likes me too and it feels good to see that jealousy and possessiveness… let me enjoy this for a few more days and then go propose her”... Sandeep was not happy with my decision still he decided to keep silent.

That evening we started our journey back to college... I decided to avoid her throughout our journey... It was fixed in my mind that I shouldn't propose to her, I actually expected her to do that... We finally reached college and I started my game instead, I can say my foolishness started from then... The minute we got down from bus I saw Roslyn waiting to say bye to me but I avoided her and left the place.

Next day was Sunday, I couldn’t wait for Monday to see Roslyn. Monday morning the 1st girl I saw in the college was "RIONA" and the minute I saw her I decided to start the game again... My eyes were wandering here and there for a glimpse of Roslyn's beautiful face finally I heard her saying "Hi John" I turned and there my angel was, standing in front of me in a white salwar I gave her a broad smile and she said “I thought of not talking to you”. “why?” I questioned,” you didn't even have the courtesy to say bye. you just left yesterday”. I smiled “oh sorry I was upset with something else.. my mind was occupied only about Pradeep's proposal to Riona”. “but why” Roslyn raised her voice, “I said I don't know” and ran from there saying I will see you later... I turned back to check on Roslyn and I saw Sean talking to her, I never liked Sean talking to Roslyn I went back to them hugged Sean and said: “it's been 10 days we haven't met how are you?” I asked and took him from there.

I always discussed with Sandeep about everything... Day by Day my love for Roslyn was increasing, as days passed I became more and more possessive about her... Our academic year was about to end and so was my college life ... Our exams started it was like we had exams every alternate days. when we had exams our juniors had study holidays... On our last day of exam, Sandeep came to me and said “John, looks like Sean is much serious about Roslyn. I am sure Roslyn is in love with you but Sean is also our friend I don't want him to be hurt, so either you talk to Roslyn or I will do it on your behalf, it's high time Sean should know that Roslyn and you like each other”. As she had an exam the next day.. I decided to go to college and let her know how I felt..

The tension of proposing to her was too much to handle, this was the first time in my life I was preparing to propose to a girl. I was wondering how and what will I talk to her.

Next day I picked Sandeep and reached college, exams were going on for Junior's, so we were sitting in the canteen for a long time, I knew Roslyn was in love with me, but I was nervous as hell... We heard the 1st bell ring, and in 10 minutes we heard the 2nd bell ring. Sandeep and i walked out of the canteen and from far I saw Roslyn sitting with one of her friends, Sandeep asked me to go talk to her but I observed her being upset... I initially got worried I went stood in front of her, without saying a word she looked at my face and smiled happily, a drop of tear fell down from her eyes she held out her hand towards me and said: “I thought I’ll never see you again”... “Why? Is it because I am done with my studies and will not be coming to college again?” I questioned...

She chose to keep quiet, I questioned again “why are you crying have you not done your exams well?” Wiping her tears she smiled, Sandeep was threating me from far. I looked direct into her eyes and said Roslyn "I".... she interrupted “John I wanna talk to you.. its something very personal”, we both started walking towards the college ground... She said “I know this isn't new for you… I know you have too many people who have a crush on you, but if I say I too have a crush on you, if I say I am in love with you madly, will that be special to you or will I be one among the other girls? she asked without meeting my eyes... The girl with whom I am in love is madly in love with me shouldn't I be flying high in the sky?

I felt like I was surrounded by clouds, I was all smiling and blushing, I looked at Sandeep and signed "Success" since I did not respond she looked into my eyes and that's when I behaved like a real idiot and hid my happiness... “Why are you not saying anything she asked?.” What do you expect me to say?” I questioned, “so am I not special to you she asked?” To myself I said "Yes you are very special to me" but what my lips uttered was "Finally you too fell for me" I said and laughed out loud, I saw her beautiful face wither. I said “do you know last week even your classmate Vrithika proposed to me.... Hmmmm let's see… prove to me that you love me more than anyone then I will think about it”... she replied “I thought you will know even without me saying it, that's ok I can prove my love for you is real, but tell me… how do you want me to prove it?. “ you decide,” I said and walked back to Sandeep... Roslyn was still standing in the middle of the ground and I kept walking towards Sandeep who stood near the Canteen... I heard Roslyn calling out my name aloud, I turned and she screamed on top of her voice "John I love you!!!! I am not afraid to tell the entire world that I love you!!!”

This time I couldn't hide my happiness, I was prepared to go give her a hug and say I love you too but by then I saw someone pulled her by her hand from behind slapped her hard, I was in shock, I ran towards her, she was forcefully taken away. I was still running towards her and she looked at me and signed not to come, she kept crying... “Oh god! that's her dad”, cried her friend... Everyone looked at me and like a coward, I stood there watching her being dragged out of college... Sandeep did not spare me he kept shouting at me, tears kept rolling my cheeks... My mind was only filled with Roslyn and I was in guilt because she was in trouble... But later Sandeep consoled me, leave this for few days things will be in place he said... That night was hell for me, early morning I woke and went near her house just to get a glimpse of her but no luck, I did the same for next 2 days, entire day I used to watch her house but no luck again, finally I gathered the courage and rang her doorbell but no one opened the door, when I enquired I heard they shifted.. I became a different person totally, still holding on to my hopes I patiently waited thinking for sure she will come back to college after summer vacation but no… she didn't... My happiness ended there, in fact, I killed it with my own hands... Flashback ends.

It took years for me to get out of her thoughts... I managed to move on professionally and married Jency as my parents wished... My life changed for good and now Roslyn is back and you call her a ghost? How can she be the ghost? John banged the table hard.
