Days leading to India's partition were hearing, there was a different air of tension going on. Everyone in Sindh was worried about there fate. Nobody wanted to leave their precious land. Even in the family of Riyansh and Suchit, there were clouds of unhappiness.

The two brothers were however not big enough to comprehend the gravity of the tense situation, even in this they were like two balls of happiness who played all day in the verandah of their house, played with their friends, etc. They were the apple of everyone's eyes even their neighbors adored them, who was a Muslim family. Their bond reminded everyone of innocent unity, how despite their own country is on the verge of a partition, the two brothers were united against the odds of the time. Slowly, days passed by, little did they know that their happy moments were getting numbered. One day Riyansh asked his mom about this chaos "Mama! why is everyone so tensed?' she replied: " even if we all did something to undo this all, it won't happen, we have to bear with it." Not a soul was prepared for that "day." It was as f out of all hopes lost everyone in the family was looking up to the two brothers who despite their age showed signs of being mature. Prior to the "d-day," there were a lot of riots happening, lots of anti-partition slogans and protests. One day Suchit the younger one told his elder brother " brother, all people need is love, hope, and unity". Riyansh felt as if his brother had all grown up. It was as if the two were trying to comprehend the situation.

The night of 14th August arrived and what everyone dreaded was what actually happened, the British Government decided to make a last-minute partition call stating " all those who want to be a part of Pakistan are hereby told to leave India!". All of a sudden leaving all the relations, things and memories were like dying a slow death. The fate of the country which was hanging like a thread about to snap off, finally broke. This partition named the virus did not even spare the Singh family and their neighbors. Riyansh and his brother's family consisting of his mom, dad, dada, dadi, and nana-nano, out of which their mother's side was Muslim and fathers side Hindu. Everyone loved each other fondly, unfortunately, they had to separate, with Suchit and his dad's side leaving for Pakistan and the other part staying in India. That night was like a catastrophe on them, they all were crying by the fact that this was the last time they would see each other.

Sometimes what we think is not what happens. Similar was the case for this family, at the time of separation the year was 1947 and they both were four and five years respectively. Seventeen years passed by like flying papers. The brothers were now handsome, smart and intelligent teenagers. By fate, both of them had secure the first place in their eleventh and twelfth respectively and had won a scholarship to study at the Cambridge University, London based on their excellent performance. So, Suchit and his father's side moved from Pakistan to London and so did Riyansh's family. Their intelligence was way back visible even when they were little.

Their fates even though the two were separated, matched so much so that even their flights were scheduled on the same day. On reaching the airport as they were going through the airport procedures, Suchit saw his mom there too with his brother. In the beginning, he felt that he might be dreaming because he had almost believed that after so many years of separation a reunion would never be possible. But to convince himself he ran up to them, calling out his brother's name. Riyansh was taken aback by the voice and after some seconds of figuring it out, his eyes couldn't believe what he was seeing. He exclaimed " Suchi !! it's really you, how grown-up you are, but still, you'll forever be my little brother!", tears of joy and reunion were falling from the brother's eyes and even the other family member including their mother and father and nana-nano. The entire family reunited after seventeen years and too unexpectedly at the airport.

Destiny had only separated them temporarily just to reunite them again. Even though the British were successful in separating the country, they failed to separate the family connections among the people just like the case of Riyansh and Suchit's family and most importantly the two brothers. Their separation though was a sad one yet their reunion was filled with sweet memories and love.
