Dr. Krishnamurti was a well known and respected doctor and research scientist in Kerala. He had done multiple surgeries and had earned a lot of fame and name. People treated him next to god. His research works also earned him lot of money and fame. Throughout his life he valued education the most. Even after his marriage he was engaged in research works and his patients. He seldom spent time with his wife Mrs. Jaya Krishnamurti who was very understanding and caring. She knew that for her husband, his patients and research work were everything. She never complained about anything to her husband . Instead, she gave her entire time to the house, the Krishnamurti family and her soon to be coming child.

Days passed and the wife gave birth to a very beautiful and healthy baby girl. She started spending each and every second with the baby. The girl grew like the sun-rays. She was named Vidhi and was interested in dance and music. Vidhi would spend more time with her instruments and "Gungrus" instead of her books. Her mother always appreciated her until her falling grades began to come under the eyes of her father.

Dr. Krishnamurti could not imagine her daughter getting such low grades whereas his colleagues' and juniors' children were doing better than his child. A simple discussion about children's education and well being at his workplace was enough to give him a huge headache. Tired of yelling at Vidhi, her father decided to send her to multiple coaching institutes. This resulted in nothing but excessive pressure and her morale went down.

She tried her best to score well, but deep inside she was well aware of the fact that she was not born to be like her father as she was the creative one. She even tried to make her father understand her preferences, but for him music and all was good as hobby and nothing else.

"You will never be able to earn even the amount of money that I spent on your tuition in an entire year if you keep singing and dancing" he taunted.

All Vidhi's efforts earned her average marks till elementary school. After that Mr.Krishnamurti was very worried.

"This is the deciding time of her life, she can't be like this all her life. She has to change herself" her father said,

"But her happiness...You know she seldom dances now. I have only seen her singing sometimes." her mother replied

"What? it means she is still into singing and dancing. I know what is good for her future. When I was in high school, I left all my hobbies and just concentrated on my studies. All this is distraction. One day when she will become like me she will thank me for being little strict with her."

Vidhi was listening to the entire discussion silently from the other room. She also listened the final decision of her father to send her to Kota for further education. Silent tears rolled down her eyes. Her mother also cried on the day she was sent to Kota.

In Kota, Vidhi was alone, devastated and deprived of her mother's love and shelter. She was also under tremendous pressure of doing well as her father spent a lot of money on her education.

In the city where the Krishnamurtis lived, Mr. Krishnamurti one day told his wife,

"We have played our part, we have spent our money for sending her to a prime location for studies. Now we just need to sit back and relax. Our daughter will be flying colors soon"

Mrs. Krishnamurti just smiled, but deep inside she was worried about her child.

2 Years passed and Vidhi sat for her medical entrance exams. She couldn't clear that one. She tried next year and again the history repeated itself. Her father was very angry but still sent the fees for next year. She tried ones again and failed miserably.

This time the money came again but with a note from her father.

"Dear Vidhi,

I know medical exams take time. I hope you will crack it this year.

Your father"

The note filled Vidhi with tears. How much she wanted to hug her parents. But her father had said that he will only receive her doctor to be Vidhi.

This time Vidhi knew what to do. She sent the money back with the same postcard and slept only to wake up at the middle of the night and went to the terrace of her hostel. With tears in her eyes, and memories of all those years along with her failures she looked down at the silent and lonely road in the utter darkness of night.

Next day, The newspaper headlines stated - " A 21 years old student, resident of Kota committed suicide in the middle of night." along with a photo of blood strained Vidhi lying on road.
