The Wrath Of God

There was once a jungle, with huge trees, their canopies spreading far and wide, and giving shelter to millions of creatures, big and small. The floor of the jungle was covered with bushes, which were dotted with colourful flowers. Rabbits and squirrels skipped freely through them. Birds made nests in the huge trees, and sang and chirped all day long. The air was filled with music, only to be interrupted by the humming of the honey bees, who were always busy making honey in their combs. Colourful butterflies fluttered from flower to flower, drinking the nectar.

One day, a great businessman happened to pass by through the jungle. “This is paradise on earth!” he said out loud. “I shall build a tall building here, and sell the houses to the richest of the rich, and make a lot of money!”

So he got his men and machines to work. The trees were chopped, the bushes trampled upon, and the beautiful creatures died because their home had been destroyed. And the rich businessman built a tall building in the jungle.

When god saw the plight of nature, he was angry that man had destroyed the paradise on earth. He sent a thunderstorm with heavy rain, to destroy the men who had attacked the jungle. The tall building started shaking and crumbling in the storm and the rains, so strong was the wrath of God! The men, women and children living there, fled for their lives, leaving the jungle forever.

Till date, no man has set foot in the jungle again, after hearing the story of the storm. The jungle, now, continues to flourish with its huge trees, bushes, and beautiful creatures, big and small.
