Mediocrity

The new initiative was called Skill Development.

The agencies were scouting around for mediocre students. The Principal was aghast.

“What do you propose to do with these good-for-nothings?”

“Train them to create support systems.”

“I don’t get it.”

“Your best students will be lapped up by premiere educational institutions to be trained in leadership roles. They’ll have fancy labels, and will be offered enviable salaries. They will need people to execute their brilliant plans. We train those.”

Back home, the Principal picked up the apples discarded by her mother.

“Mom, maybe we can make a salad or soup with it.”
