Adventure On Planet Zathura

It was a mundane day and as usual my brother, Dhruv and I entered the school bus to go home from school. The bus looked as if it were ancient. As I entered the bus I noticed two girls sitting at the back. They were twins. The bus driver glanced at the twins. I realized he was new too. The twins seemed amicable and we immediately became friends. Their names were Ann and Isabel and the driver’s name was Mark. When it was time to get off, the archaic bus suddenly floated into the air and zipped through the sky with Isabel , Ann, Dhruv and me in it. I was paralysed with fear. Dhruv started screeching. The bus flew into space, but throughout the noise, Isabel and Ann didn’t seem to have a problem at all. I asked them what had happened in a perplexed voice as we calmly floated through space. The twins said that they were not mortals and were aliens from Planet Zathura from the Spiral Cane Galaxy.I was astonished and asked them their real names. Ann replied, “ I am Iegopinneuf and this is Egodixin.” “ Where are we?” I asked in a not so jovial voice. “ We are on Planet Zathura.”, Egodixin(Isabel) replied. Zathura was spectacularly beautiful. The trees were made of chocolate and the bushes and shrubs were made of cotton candy. The houses were fixed with caramel bricks and the ground was chocolaty brown. The sky was bright orange with a purple sun and green clouds. The houses smelled of freshly made waffles and caramel apples. The people on Zathura looked like humans. The people wore dresses made of grass and pants made of leaves. The sight was outstanding. While I was enjoying the sight, a huge bang was heard from the atmosphere. An alien blew a conch to warn the Zathurians . Ann and Isabel asked me to hide immediately. I grabbed Dhruv and hid inside a shop. From the window I saw a spaceship arrive. The spaceship was made of silver and gold. A sinister man in a golden cape and silver suit stepped out of the spaceship. He had a not so amicable look on his face. Immediately , all Zathurians bowed to him and said, “ Greeting Senator Kendallo, the ruler of this vast universe”. With an evil smirk he replied, “ Good Morning My subjects. Do you know what day it is?” “ No Senator” , said the Zathurians. “ Fie on you, It is my Birthday tomorrow and you all are standing doing nothing. Prepare a feast for my celebrations or be ready to die!” The petrified Zathurians started preparing the feast for Senator Kendello. The menu was extensive; Eggoh(egg), Highodicnic( mayo and frankie), limsu(lemonade), Pizzave(pizza), Ndoolesedn(noodles), Pmacaeticmic(Mac and Cheese) Chekwin(Chicken wings) and Gnehlaven( Nachos and Guacomole).

I ran to Ann and Isabel who were standing in a nearby corner. They told me that Senator Kendello was an evil ruler. He ruled a planet Colace which was situated in the Ranoking Galaxy. He took over Zathura too and the people were not happy with him. He had always been jealous of Zathura’s beauty as his planet was dark and melancholy. I told Ann and Isabel that our mother must be waiting for us. They asked us for help to overthrow the senator. I didnt know how I could help. Senator Kendello was checking the arrangements. He saw us and told his guards to arrest us. We ran as fast as we could but the guards caught us. The senator challenged us to a duel. As Zathura and Colace were known for their skills in Zarindixin( sword fighting), they challenged us to a game of Zarindixin. Senator said, “ If you earthlings win the duel, I promise to leave Zathura and never return”.I replied, “ Bring it on.” “Very well “, the Senator replied. “The challenge will be held in three days from now.” Saying this Senator Kendello returned to his spaceship and zipped away. “ I don’t know the art of Zarindixin”, I cried. “ please teach me”. “ Of course” , replied Isabel. The next day Ann and Isabel starting teaching me Zarindixin.

I practiced day and night until I had mastered the art. It was the day of the challenge. As my brother had also been taught Zarindixin, he went to battle first. His competitor was a monster but my brother tackled his opponent and won. Zathurians cheered for him. It was Ann and Isabel’s turn to battle. They battled the two headed ogre courageously and won. It was finally my turn and I had to beat Senator Kendello himself. All the hard work and practising finally paid off. I won the match and Senator Kendello kept his promise. The Zathurians were thrilled. They thanked us for our help but it was time to return to our planet. The Zathurians planned a colossal farewell for us. There was a grand feast and my favourite food was Pomotira(momos) a Zathurian delicacy. They put us in a capsule that transported us back home. And lo we were back in our school bus in the back seat. Dhruv and me looked at each other perplexed. We smiled and looked above. A spaceship with Ann and Isabel was howering above the bus. We knew that this was not the end of our journey and there were many more adventures to come.
