“Hey mom! Ummm… Yummy.” I could smell delicious half baked chicken.
“Ria, can you help me with the dinner?” Mom called my sister.
“Oh! I will, why bother her? Ria you can continue with your stuff.” I had smashed her car in an accident and was hoping she would not be mad at me, if I can act a bit nicer to her.
“Mom, I’ve to complete the painting” Ria replied.
“Yes Mom?” But, my mother continued, without even replying.
“Okay Mamma! I know I am late. Sorry”
“Please Mom! I said I am sorry” Microwave beeped and she turned towards it.
“Talk to me, at least! Half an hour, it’s not that late anyways.” I tried blocking her way but in vain.
“Fine” I walked out of the kitchen.
“Ria!!” She was on stairs “Mmm…finished your painting?” I stammered, trying to confess about her car.
“Listen, there is something I have to tell you, but please…” Her mobile rang. She saw her mobile screen and then suddenly gave me a strange look. I am not sure she was trying to search something or looking at me or the curtain behind me.
“Hello! Yeah, whom am I speaking to?”
“Annie.. Truck.. What.. Mammaaaaaa…!”
“Look, let me explain!” But, I don’t think Ria was listening. She ran towards the kitchen.
Wait, did she just ran past me, how is that possible?
I looked at the mirror and saw my reflection flicker.
