The Inner Voice

Through the sun's rays,

I saw it blaze,

My own reflection,

I could gaze,

Imperfections everywhere,

Accepting it, caused a scare!

What have you become?

It did ask,

Whatever do you mean?

I replied,

You inevitably sold out, it said,

In your career and in bed,

It was for the better, I assert!

Making slight changes, does not really hurt,

You walk adorning a cloth of despair and regret,

An utter disappointment you are, it said,

How different are you?

I question!

You would not have even been here,

Without the sun,

For showing you the true self, I appear,

To death you are closer, the end is near,

I laugh aloud and proudly sing,

You will end as the sun sets,

You are nothing but a bling,

The truth still remains, it said,

For better or worse, get it in your head,

Change your path or you shall demise,

For every forgotten truth, and the endless lies,

For when the moon came it vanished away,

Till date I wonder,
