Sleep Deprived

Today, determined to go to sleep,

I took my blanket and my pillow alongside,

Laid myself where I daily lay.

But, once again, I found myself in a giant wheel

which constantly rotates and rotates,

Bringing me back to my same position;

The same as yesterday, i found myself sleep-deprived,

Stood awake whole night, with wide open eyes,

Staring the ceiling of my room along with counting the fan's rotation.

I found myself one more night, fighting and struggling with myself,

Fighting with my inner demons

To stop directing me to an unwanted track,

And struggling with myself to achieve what I had always craved for!

Sometimes, I find myself loosing all hope

As if getting deeper and deeper into a large void

And another moment,

The zenith of my achievements made me proud,

Encouraging me to fulfill all my dreams and daydreams.

The wheel daily rotates and rotates,

And daily rotates my reveries and vagaries,

Yet, daily I find myself in a newer position,

As if moved one more step closer.

To the hitherto unopened gates,

I found myself holding the keys,

And just ready to open the yet unopened gates.

The dreams are what we all knead,

Each night within each one's mind,

Only some gets executed right.

For, the unfulfilled ones, you dreamed with closed eyes,

While, the one with wide open eyes,

Only enlightened you with the track right!
