Is To Be Black A Felony?

We never knew our Felony is to be black

For ages we are rejected for what we lack

Is it a big reason to be your slave so far?

This makes us more humane than you are

Are your blood and tears also different from us?

Why then does this world have such a big fuss?

Do you also avoid black clothes and ink?

Do skin and blood have really any link?

To have born like we love is not our right

Else the whole world would be only white

Why don’t you consider us at par?

Have we chosen to be as we are?

To be or not to be is no one’s choice

Had it been so, the world would’ve one voice

Don’t your eyes see the soul behind the skin?
