Those were the days when I was a child,

Free from any tension, roaming like an animal wild.

Clustered on last bench, we were a group of four,

Caught doing mischief, asked to stand outside the door.

Playing football with friends, sometimes breaking a glass,

Ringing of morning bell, rushing to the class.

Never enjoyed the studies, had fun time in the pool,

Enjoyed bunking classes in the school.

Stealing an apple or cake from someone's tiffin box,

Placing in girl's bag, a pair of foul smelling socks.

To see a movie, remember jumping a five feet wall,

Those days were the happiest of all.

Thought of those lovely days, even for a while,

Brings on my face a little sweet smile.
