College Life - An Igniting Spark Of Memories

Now going back to the lanes,

Full of smiles, laughter, tears & bonds,

Give the marrow of my bones a frozen cover

& wrap my skin with shivering goosebumps.

Nostalgia oozes through my veins

When I see a gang full of valourous gossips,

Or, two newcomer feels gypsy in a new place

Or, bunking lectures germinates a tender love.

Flashbacks can't help me but shed tears,

For entering to the dreamland tip-toeing;

As I proceed further with the alleys on my mind,

I trace the known faces chanting the same,

Of manners, regularities & dauntless life;

As if they beckon to revert back & sip those medicinal doses.

I smile & dwell in the reverie of going with an empty bag,

And halt where the canteen provides savor.

I procrastinate on leaving this dream

As illusions leave my heart stiff & cold.

I wish again to cherish everything,

And never to get them go blur from my brain.

Series of thoughts dipped in gold dust,

Allure my soul by embracing head to toe.

But the reality intricates as I see myself,

Sitting in a corner of room hallucinating.

I strive to connect them but all in vain.

College campus engraves constant stories;

Stories of mine still there but slightly in dusts,

As the new ones ready to be embellished.

With my numb limbs, heart cracks & aching soul,

I give a wrenching tribute to my college goals.
