Adapting

Cogent thinking goes for a toss,

When the brain gathers moss.

Stuck over stagnant beliefs,

Holed up in the cranium's crevices.

It best to keep pace with change,

Not get stuck in the cesspool with age.

Become a misfit with the younger generation.

Accept that they hold keys of a vast range.

Wiser maybe we, with our experiences,

Grey hair, wrinkled skin, proof of it.

But move on we must with the times,

Otherwise, face the risk of being left behind.

Some refuse, remain stubborn as mules,

Believe only in traditions they knew.

Impose on others' their archaic views,

Dissenting opinions falls like wet dough.

Even royalty has changed with grace.

Prince Harry went ahead and wed.

Megan a divorcee of mixed descent.

Her Majesty gave them her consent.

An eye opener to the entire world.

Caste, Creed, color, shouldn't come,

Between two hearts that know how to love,

Without doing post mortem of the past.

Methinks even the Good Lord in Heaven.

From young and old, needing solace.
