Grumpy Grandma

Grandma poked out her head

and screamed "Get the lawn

mowed lickety-split. Soon

snow will arrive and cover

the entire landscape".

Grandma belonged to the

old school of thought,

mechanized mower never bought

Suffered from schwellenangst 

of modern gadgets she abhorred 

She rarely stepped out of the house

except to get books from the library

Never returned after reading

Town people knew she was an

old biblioklept; best left to herself

She had no friends, most unsocial

Neighbours avoided her most often

After all, no one wanted to interact

with an age last old woman lacking

sense of humour, a person staid.
