The In Between Times

The In Between Times

The dark grey skies linger amidst the azure,

They are only hinted but still, they have a colour

They are still tinted.

The won't fit, they take on a hue belonging to another,

A misfit.

The azure ones remind me of the happy times we had,

Those times I wished would exist for life,

With bliss and joy conjured in one shaft,

That pillar which held me till now,

So I don't remember the bad times,

The In between times.

I thought it would rain, hence the overcast that had lain

For hours, the dark greys that been for days

So adamant I thought they would forever stay.

Those times I wished I could suppress the hurricane that howled on the inside,

They didn't hurt so bad

They were far more unsettling, wreaking havoc in their wake, wanton.

In the end, I lay asleep by the rock side,

My face streaked with tears,

Like a mistress in despair.

The dark greys are gone,

A new morning has come,

But the memories are never gone,

I never forget the sad times,

The in-between times.
