You always wanted

A balcony for us

Where we can see all

But no one to watch us..

 

Where we can watch sunset

Listen to the chirpings of birds returning

Admire the shades of evening

“Even if in a rented house,” you said then

“We should have a balcony of our own..”

 

See, I searched for days and night

For a balcony, I scanned the city

Went from agent to agent

Realized I can’t afford their rent…

 

See over there, between the leaves

There is a house with a balcony

We can sit by our window

And watch people from our shadow

We shall see them enjoying the evening

They can never know we are watching…
