Let Me Be Free

In the shadows of dark, where things didn’t look so rosy.
I tried to pave a way, to get to the blue.

The storms gathered clouds took over the sky.
Everything looked hazy, there was no way to fly.

My heart was shattered before I could even advance.
Dreams were broken, and so my morale.

Then, a bird came into my sight, struggling hard to open the cage.
This little bird’s toil and fervour was enough for me to encourage.

I broke the manacles, I took a leap.
Everyone woke up, who was fast asleep.

They tried to pull me down, to the ground again.
But their labours hard, went all in vain.

For now I realize, it’s all in the mind.
I will get freedom, once I aspire to find.
