Waves

A flurry, eyeing dusk, raises a chill, The vibrant, glossy sand swirls to a heap. Vigorous wind simmers with gusty trees, As billowing waves come surging, melodic. Blossoming the wet mass with a tinge of silver, Spreading white shells laden with pearls, Scattering light clouds on the arid isle, They drift away in a dance of curls. Daunting the indolent rocks anchored afar, Drenching green moss, slipping from the crest, Swift with the wind, it swooshes back – My waves, with whom I sit and rest. A flock of gulls fade, whither, I know not. How I’ll miss them and the sleepy sea! As sinks the sun on its horizon, One last kiss gives the blue sea to me. Oh! Watch them whisper and ebb away. Watch them in this moonlit night. How I crave for the bygone hours! How I crave for my lost eventide!
