Is that a tear I see?

The moon reflected in its sad history?

I trace drops of light down your chin-

They fall into nothingness, forgotten too soon,

Tidal waves soothe the agony of the moon.

 

Bits of colour in a kaleidoscopic cast,

Show fleeting scenes of our shared past.

A crack appears to break the reverie-

The colours fall into nothingness, through the spidery web,

Clutching at the shattered glass, drops of blood flow and ebb.

 

Wind chimes sing as monsoon breeze teases,

Leaves rustle to remind me and all confusion ceases.

I suddenly remember your hysterical giggles-

No sound can drown them in nothingness, I hear clear and true,

I can finally see the chiming dreams that we construed.

 

Is that a smile I see?

The sun blazing in its knowing mystery?

I trace the lifting of the corners of your lips-

They don't fall this time but stretch to embrace the sky,

I see us hand in hand, walking by...
