Euphoria

Riding up and down the zigzag trails.
tracing the paths of the misty, dewy, lofty hills.
eagerly taking in the breathtaking vistas.
the abundant flora and looking for the rarely seen fauna.
Beholding the avenues of dense trees.
stretched out, it seems, like a maze of lush green caves.
beckoning me, I feel, to traverse the labyrinth.
and to unravel its enigmatic secrets.
Ambling down the gushing stream.
to fulfill a recurring dream.
the water gliding smoothly over the rocks.
sending ripples of joy into my yearning heart.
Relaxing under the shade of the great banyan tree.
the boughs swaying like the matted locks of a deity.
Euphoric, I carry on.
promising myself a return
when the longing gets too strong.
