The Unknown
The Unknown
I don't know who she was;
Better say what she was.
For I always saw her
Just below the water layer.
She was like a spirit
With a face so pale.
Or was she a mermaid
Of a fantastical tale?
I saw her for the first time
In the lake below the hill.
She was something unknown,
And was in a great still.
She grew my anxiety every day,
For she was charismatic something.
But I did a mistake one day
For I am a real human being.
It was the vibe of the gloam
When I touched the unknown,
She came upon the loam,
And took me in her zone.
And beneath the water layer
She had her own mysterious den.
There was not a single litter
And was as clean as heaven.
She thanked me to help her,
As she was locked in the water,
But the curse now passed upon me,
Given to her by her enemy.
Alas! I was then locked in the water,
Now, I am left all alone,
Forever and ever and could go never
From the water of the unknown.
