The Clock

I ran from time but the time chased me,

I ran from death but it cheated me.

I ran from the world but it followed me,

I ran from myself but it made me.

The time was over but I was not,

I made myself strong just like a clock.

The death came at my door and took me away,

"Time and death wait for none."
