You leave me at the door,

Saying you cannot see me go,

I remain at the threshold,

Wishing, hoping, for that last look.

 

Just for one moment,

Ah, love! If only were our hearts,

Free from these corporeal holds.

If only you and I could swipe away,

The lands and seas that stand in between,

But the world's many illusions

Ensnare us, mocking the heart's desire,

Ambitions and obligations

Stretch their arms,
