Outside & Beyond The Labyrinth

Outside & Beyond The Labyrinth

So engrossed are we today

In our egocentric desires and greed.

Be it dark or light, we merely crave for triumph.

Our emotions have been devoured; I ponder always:

Why still, to these lethal wants, do we accede?

The world, perhaps, has become a labyrinth with ruthless runners:

The only way out of which, as we perceive, is win.

But have we ever devoted a jiffy to notice

The unified tranquility that surrounds us;

Rendering love altruistically, and always forgiving our sins.

Take a moment, my friend, to peacefully breathe,

Banishing all worries of your victory or defeat.

And concurrently, intake the pulchritude around you

Living quietly at Its own grace and calm.

Its allure be so exquisitely entangled, yet so neat.

The Tree: He’s always rendered us life: air, food and shelter.

Yet we never spent a thought of stopping the axe that deceases Him.

The Wind: She clemently meanders all through the sky, and beneath,

Dancing through branches and pacing at other times; at Her own will.

She may blow Him off sometimes; not deliberately and it’s never war.

The Sun: He glistens so gracefully, emanating elation all around.

The Cloud: She is segregated into shapes, all nacreous, scattered all where.

Her parts hold grief of centuries, poured out when they can’t take it anymore.

But the Sun never stopped the arriving stormthey never compete for dominance.

The sky is theirs to equally share.

Nature, O Nature! What a gorgeous bond thy elements share!

No greed, no desires, no cravings-- whatsoever.

They shall perpetually work in amalgamation to keep running the cycle of Life.

Oh, if only we could become like You: less ruthless and more altruistic, from skin to bone,

And help others pace forward while we run ahead too.

How easier it would be to survive and evade this labyrinth!
