Boys Don't Cry
Boys Don't Cry
" Boys don't cry",
His mom said in a heavy tone,
The world had introduced itself already,
It was a freaking war zone!
He was a boy
Walking only to become a man,
No in-between he had
His father knew any job to be it he always can!
When he was a teen
He got into a fight in school;
Other boys had hit him
Called him names and made him look like a fool!
He did not but cry
For he remembered what his mother had taught,
He cannot simply give up like a 'girl'
To himself, he thought.
So next day he stole the kitchen knife
Took it in his bag to school,
At recess when kids were planning games
He knew what was to be done to look cool.
He walked up to the boy who had hit him
And said, " Hey you!! look at me!!"
When the boy turned he screamed," I am not some fool"
And jabbed the knife in his tummy.
The teachers rushed to the spot
Called his parents and the police,
When the cops took him in custody
He did not fear for his dad had taught being afraid is foolish!
In the juvenile court, he appeared in some days
For attempted murder plea,
The judge asked him, " Do you have anything to say in your favor,
It's a serious trial, you see."
The boy replied in a gruff tone
" What I did was manly!!
When he hit me I did not cry,
When arrested I was not even cowardly!"
The judge then said,
" Why did you not ask for a simple apology ?"
The boy replied,
" Why should I? It's not manly analogy!"
" My dad's taught me how to become a man,
And mum told me never to cry,
If I start forgiving people simply,
They will think I did not even try!!"
The judge then replied in a calm voice,
"Being brutal is not manly, it's only a choice!
A man with no control over his emotions
Means he does not have a voice."
"You are not completely to be blamed,
It's also a fault of your parents,
For they don't know how to raise a humane person,
How to make a gentleman!"
