The Unbidden

I heard a shrill cry last night,

I was afraid and held my blanket very tight.

My blanket slipped away slowly from me,

I felt somebody's presence but couldn't see.

The door closed up suddenly with a loud thud,

And there appeared a woman in the mirror with a bowl of blood.

I was black and white with fear all around,

But there was nobody to be ever found!

Was it a catastrophe or a haunted dream,

It kept me all night shivering and screaming.

Her wicked appearance wanders all around me,

I could feel her presence but I could find who is she!!!!!
