Lighting up the night that is dark,
Altering my attitudes with a spark,
Flying and moving hither and tither,
Life is transient they mutter.
Once I tried to hold them in a bottle,
Their death I received as a reward of a lost battle,
Opening the prison, I settled not to distort,
Another's life that's God's dear resort.
Flickering the light a discovery of God,
Proving stupendous scientist who is certainly not a fraud,
Closing my eyes I stored this beauty of the fire fly,
Unpredictable it's extinction anytime in modernity we may cry.
Fire fly, fly with your light,
Lighting this darkened world abright.
