A Goodbye

How hard it is to say goodbye
When every memory comes back to lie, 
In the bosom of my soul 
Quenching its thirst to become whole.

Visions of ecstatic and fearful happenings 
Curl into my eyes like humble awakenings. 
Questions unasked and rhetorics broken, 
Has this relation been forsaken?

Have you given up on me 
And the way I used to idolize our mess? 
There is a need for drifting apart
For some souls to stay abreast.

I envisaged a future 
A place of sheer bliss, 
Little did I know about the weakness
Of our bond and the connection getting adrift.

A simple thing you said, 
A monosyllabic reply. 
But to my horror, you didn't notice
The tear that passed down my eye.

I wish I could hold you, 
To show the love, i carried in my soul.
But for an unsatisfied man, 
Isn't all the silver foul?

Yes, it was hard, our last goodbye
Because I lost a part of me. 
But sadly, to you, 
I was just a stranger passing by.
