Zeal

Zeal

The veil of unhappiness hides the truth,

That sadness, sorrow, pain, ambush.

Smiles overwhelm that despondent look;

Surpass the wounded heart it took.

Her tired core gave away,

Nobody came to the hut that day,

Bedridden and lonely now months had passed;

She thought they'll come but no one asked.

A crust of bread, a glass of water;

But all she got was terrible slaughter.

A heavy heart and heavy breath,

She lay down still waiting for death.

When death creeped into the Jerry- built hut,

A cold wave ran down her spine.

That old, worn-out core beat slower with time.

And slowly but surely she would have to resign.

As death moved closer to take her away,

He could feel the gusto and warmth astray,

Her craving heart and childish feel,

Death felt pity for the tattered one.

He did one thing that none had done.

And now she lives an elated life,

Jocund mood overpowered her strife.

Zeal, energy and exuberance,

Death gave rise to a new existence.
