Flashback

Spending this whole year

With profound love and hatred

Now the time has come to finally look back

And realise what has really changed.

Nothing's rich nothing's poor

Showering kindness all over

Wonderful beginnings and miserable ends

We learned how the time bends.

Laughter and nervousness filled in

Along with the memories of kith and kin

We followed the laws of our lives

Finding something to laugh about at sad times.

Remembering those who left us before

Trying to catch things that were falling off

Amidst all the ups and downs

When we first flew high and then fell down to the ground.

Another year has passed by 

And the sea of life still makes its own tides

While everyone tried to collect shells and crabs

The only things that remained were the footprints on the sand.
