Heart sank with disappointment.
Peered close to find they
Were made from pages
Of her book the raddiwalla
Had collected from
The printing press
Her thoughts mixed
With chopped onions
Soaked in mustard oil,
Peanuts added.
Poems picking up
The aroma of spices
Who but herself knew
The hard work invested
In stringing together
The verses no one read
Reconciled was never
Meant to be a poet.
