You And Us
You And Us
Laugh a lot but the brains psyched out,
Plaster that melting smile,
Just so no one has a doubt,
Sometimes forget to feel
Because we don't like emotions,
A thousand people to seal the deal,
And yet no one to cover these distressed potions
We say sorry yet don't know why,
It's really the fear of missing out
In the end, we still curl up and cry,
And yet we're supposedly 'doing it for the clout'
A thousand tears shed,
All out of joy we say,
But really these feelings
Don't just easily go away,
Yes we're thinking, overthinking
Were we really enough?
You see, they always had us believing,
It wasn't them, it was us.
We crossed paths, crossed minds
Promised it would be till the end of time,
Yet we're at this crossroad
Were one of us fall from this long climb,
It's just a phase they say,
Give it time it will all go away,
But what they don't understand
Is that we're afraid to lose ourselves on the way.
Hold on tight and embrace this journey,
Because it isn't all bad as they say,
Tearing down and falling apart,
Are just tiny obstacles in the long way
Hold on to every second,
Because it isn't going to come back,
Once you get through it, rest assured,
Everything will be just right on track
