Sound Of Silence
Sound Of Silence
Hear the sound of silence in the air;
Listen to its bittersweet whispers,
Feel its guilty presence hanging there,
In the darkness so unfair.
Hear my heart pounding,
I know the truth, but I won’t say it;
Hear the fear in my voice, overpowering,
Disgrace and distress, abounding.
Hear the truth behind this veil,
Not the illusions you see,
Seek for the facts, with no regard of avail,
Not the lies you find and prevail.
Hear the wails of the people, unheeded
Suffering from injustice.
The truth is all that’s needed,
To repair their hearts that mercilessly bled.
Hear my sound of silence,
Avoiding the terrifying truth I witnessed,
Hiding in the gloom away from violence,
Hear my sound of silence.
