The Final Plight
The Final Plight
She glanced at the pond, tired and lost
At the marks of her tolerance,
Oh!! How much it costs!!
She wiped the tears off her cheeks
And set off a journey across the peaks.
It was time to leave the place she gave birth to
Something she took centuries to develop and beautify too
So incredible and rich it grew!
Uniquely designed from rocks to dew.
It flourished like her saree, colourful and opulent
And shone like her jewels, lustrous and radiant
She took her pallu and tugged it to her waist
And pulled off her jewels in a haste
She took off her journey into the seas;
But was caught by a young lad in his preteens
He held her hand and knelt on his knees
And wept “don’t leave us maa, there won't be peace.”
“oh! My dear son!! I really do wish!!”
But its too hard to see your children perish.
I raised them to protect and love one another
But when one starve to death, no one bothers!
I grouped them up so that they share and care
But they are ruthless and are together rare
They take one’s wealth and life and soul
And ruin them like a shattered bowl.
Never they realise there’s only one mother
And all the beings here are her sister and brother
I intend to be here no more
Because my cries don’t reach them anymore
And then she walked towards the blues and shores
So they won’t ever hear her cries and roars!
