Thinking Out Loud

Is it truly a goodbye,

If we promise to keep in touch.

Can social media really prove a substitute

From missing you so much?

Can the void thus created

Ever be truly filled?

Can moving away to a different city

Change the way the balances tilted?

These thoughts echo through my head

As I glance at my bunch of friends

The ones for whom I'd travel

Till the world's very ends.

What is a city?

So what if we are apart?

I know that the memories we created

Will always be engraved in my heart.

Physically we may be

A thousand miles away,

But why count the distance

When I'm here with them today.

I stop my musing

And go join the banter with a smile,

As these are the friends I'll remember

All through my while.
