Our Men-at-arms
Our Men-at-arms
The tricolor flag fluttering at Red Fort,
Has an extraordinary fable to apprise.
It's decades old story of magnanimity,
Manifested by our Indian men-at-arms.
Sons, brothers, husbands and fathers-
They too were the beloved of someone.
Yet, the valiant souls rife with patriotism,
Were primed to libate the life toot sweet.
Heedless of the foreshadowing jeopardy,
They, the proud servants of mother India,
Volunteered the albeit warfares with foes,
With guns at arms and their lives at stake.
Today, when nation thanks daring martyrs,
And presents Posthumous Medal of Honor,
Let us pray for the soul of the brave guards,
Who had grown weary by warding off India.
