No my sins did not vanish
No my sins did not vanish
It was a serene dip
In the Ganges
The river was flowing through
With full intensity
And vigour,
As if there was an urgency
At the other end to catch up
When people were
Immersing themselves
In the sacred river
They believed that
All the sins that they committed
Will vanish once they get immersed
In the sacred river
As the river was pristine
And the river flow sacred.
I also immersed myself
In the serene river
with the hope
That all the sins I committed
Will vanish too
But came out only to realise
The mind was with the same sins
And the body was committing the same
Only the dirt in my body
Had vanished due to the river flow
Neither my mind changed
Nor the actions
While the river still looked
Serene with its natural flow
Appearing so beautiful
