"I’d like to take the steamed rice cake,
With a spicy and tangy lentil curry
With chopped carrots, tomatoes and onions,
Get it quick, I’m in a hurry."
"Oh, and even I think a side
Of a nice cottage cheese steak,
Marinated in a sauce of curd and mustard.
I want it grilled and not baked."
"And for my drink I think I’ll take
An extravagant raw mango mocktail.
Cook the mangoes then blitz them with spices,
I want the flavour to be bold, not pale."
"I’ll end it light, with a simple dish:
A grated carrot pudding,
I want it with a dash of car’mom.
Follow my necessities, cook my bidding."
"Now read back the order my good man,
Or it is the manager who I will call."
The waiter stood puzzled for just a second,
And then he understood it all.
"Idli and Sambar with carrots and tomatoes,
A drink of refreshing Aam Panna;
Paneer Tikka, dry, as a side,
And for dessert, Gajar ka Halwa!"
The room erupted in laughter!
Followed by chuckles and hysteria.
The embarrassed man made a silent vow-
"I will never watch Masterchef Australia!"
