Dandelion

If I could be any flower,

A dandelion is what I would be,

As this little unseen beauty,

Has been labelled a weed just like me.

Like me a weed has strength,

It proves most difficult to kill,

I'm unstoppable, an unbreakable spirit,

And extremely strong of will.

All the so called beautiful flowers,

End up locked in a vase with no key,

Whereas the unpicked little dandelion,

Is the one who will always remain free.

Just like that fierce little flower,

I'm scruffy and totally wild at heart,

Its seeds need no bee to pollinate,

Its defense against extension makes it utterly smart.

It may be small just like me,

But strength is not a matter of size,

There are always flowers for those who want to see them,

Within is where true beauty lies.

So, if to you the dandelion is not beautiful,

You will never see the real me,

And because of your blind superficial nature,

In my garden you will never be.
