Your Fairy Is Not Far Away
Your Fairy Is Not Far Away
She is there to watch for your very first shivers,
Of the coming winter, of the snow at your doorstep,
Waiting for the call to make sure
That the cold does not hurt you in its polite winds.
She will offer you her magical drinks
Warming your heart, perhaps in dead loves
Of the radiant summer when they were strong,
And disappeared at the end of the harvest.
It is the fairy of the season who in your cottage
Will illuminate you with her warm light,
To comfort you as she descends from the heavens.
And you will be surprised by this sweet spell,
Of this enchantress and her graceful spell
Who will have given you a charming privilege.
